About the Meetup
The Kochi Python Meetup is a vibrant community event organized by NSDC MEC, aimed at connecting Python enthusiasts of all expertise levels, from beginners to experts. The event provided a platform to discuss Python applications, new developments, and foster collaborative learning.
Highlights of the Event
The event began with an in-depth exploration of fundamental Python programming concepts, followed by sessions on:
- Expressive structured URLs in Django with Rison and Pydantic
- Basic text processing techniques, including tokenization and stemming
- Real-world applications of Natural Language Processing (NLP)
Our Speaker
Jesvin Jose, Senior Developer-Backend at Enact Systems, shared valuable insights about the tech workspace, market entry strategies, and advanced concepts in Django and Pydantic.
Lightning Talks
The event featured engaging short talks (10-15 minutes) by college students:
- Aadil Varsh: Benefits of FastAPI and CLI’s with Typer
- Abhin Krishna: Tracking International Space Station (ISS) in real-time using API
- Bharath Krishna: Blockchain using Python, building blocks from scratch with Flask
- Mevin Porathur, Amritesh, and Alestor: Real-world Python projects and solutions
Final Closing
The session concluded with Karthik G Kumar, Chairperson of NSDC, sharing his experience in AI and presenting a roadmap to becoming an AI/ML Engineer. Participants explored various Python topics, including Django, Flask APIs, Blockchain, and AI/ML, while networking with like-minded individuals.
